INDIANAPOLIS, IN — For the first time in the Garry Brodhead era, the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball program (14-3, 7-1 SBC) earned the No. 100 ranking in the RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) poll, released by the NCAA on Sunday.

It is the highest ranking for the Ragin’ Cajuns since Brodhead took over at the helm of the women’s basketball program in 2012 when they were pegged at No. 303 in the RPI.

This season, the Cajuns are off to their best start through 17 games since 2006-07 (12-5). They have defeated two SEC programs in Ole Miss and the University of Arkansas, and have won seven of their first eight conference games for the first time in program history.

Louisiana is currently in the midst of a four-game win streak after having swept Georgia Southern and Georgia State on the road and coming from 15 points down this past Saturday to top Troy, 56-53.

The Cajuns are one of two Sun Belt Conference schools (Arkansas State – 56) with a Top 100 RPI ranking.

The Ragin’ Cajuns go for their fifth straight conference win next Thursday, Jan. 28 at home against Texas State. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. at the Cajundome.
