Women’s Basketball: Motley Tabbed LSWA POW Once Again

The Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Monday afternoon that Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball senior Krystal Motley was named Louisiana Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Motley won the award for the second time this season after coming off last week’s performances where she averaged 20.0 points, while grabbing 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in two games.
 
The senior set a career-high 36 points last Wednesday in a narrow loss to South Alabama 72-68. Motley scored 21 of her points in the second half, and made a personal-best 16 field goals from the floor. She finished 16-of-28 from the field and 4-for-5 from beyond arc. Motley corralled a career-best six rebounds to complete her effort.
 
The Houston, Texas native finished her week scoring four points and pulling down five rebounds in the loss to Florida International on Saturday.
 
Motley leads Louisiana in scoring averaging 13.8 points per game on the season and 17.0 points per contest in Sun Belt conference play.
 
The Ragin’ Cajuns hit the road as they travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to challenge conference foe UALR on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
