Veal averaged 21.0 points and 6.5 rebounds to go with eight steals and seven assists in a pair of road wins last week

BATON ROUGE, La. — For the second time this season, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball senior guard Keke Veal garnered Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Player of the Week accolades on Tuesday.

Veal earned six of the 12 votes from this week’s panel. The Opelousas, La. native and St. Thomas More graduate averaged a team-high 21.0 points (40% shooting) and 6.5 rebounds in two road wins at UT Arlington and Texas State last week. She added seven assists and a team-high eight steals.

"Keke did a great job of scoring the basketball," Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Garry Brodhead said. "Her mid-range game was really good the last couple of weeks."

The weekly honor is her first since Jan. 6 earlier this season.

Veal and the Cajuns conclude their 2015-16 regular season road slate beginning this Thursday, Feb. 25 at Troy. Tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m.
