Gordon averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds to go with team-high 10 assists in pair of road wins for Cajuns

LAFAYETTE — For the second time this season, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball junior guard Jaylyn Gordon was tabbed College Sports Madness Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced on Monday.

In a pair of wins last week that improved the Cajuns record to 12-3 and 5-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, Gordon averaged a team-high 19.5 points to go with 5.5 rebounds per contest. The Edgard, La., native dished out a team-high 10 assists and added a team-best four steals on the defensive end of the floor. She shot 41.7% (15-of-36) from the floor in the two games.

Gordon also splashed five three-pointers, which brought her career total to 144, passing Onna Charles for sole possession for sixth place all-time in Cajuns history.

The Cajuns will resume play this Thursday against South Alabama at the Cajundome. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
