Women’s Basketball: Former Forward Brooklyn Arceneaux Joins Coaching StaffDavid Collins, Athletics Communications Assistant LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Women’s Basketball and head coach Garry Brodhead announced, on Wednesday, Sept. 19, the addition of former Louisiana Women’s Basketball forward Brooklyn Arceneaux to the staff as the Director of Student-Athlete Development. "I am extremely thankful of Coach Brodhead, Coach Deacon Jones, Coach Amber Gregg and Coach Valerie Huizar for giving me the chance to get my foot in the door with collegiate athletics and to have this opportunity to give back to the University that helped me through my collegiate career." Arceneaux, who is a Lafayette, Louisiana native, played forward for Louisiana from 2011-16 and was a key cog in Louisiana and Coach Brodhead’s back-to-back Women’s Basketball Invitational Championship winning teams, from 2013-15. During her time at Louisiana Arceneaux played over 2,000 minutes and just under 100 games for the Ragin’ Cajuns, finishing with just over 600 career points during her time at Louisiana. "Over the years we have been very blessed to have players that have played for us come back and be a part of what we are building here at Louisiana," said Brodhead. "Brooklyn is the first player to come back and be a part of our staff and we feel very fortunate to be able to bring her back. She brings a ton of experience and understanding of our purpose as coaches and the culture we have developed for our program." As the Director of Student-Athlete Development, Arceneaux will help the current student-athletes on the team develop their skills off the court and provide yet another level of support throughout the season for the young women on the team as they juggle the busy life of being a Division I student-athlete. "I am excited to be back and working with the program that I played for and love with all of my heart," said Arceneaux. And I can’t wait to help the girls develop as young women and help them be the best they can be off and on the court."
