Women’s Baseketball: Cajuns Place Three On All-Louisiana Women’s Basketball Team

Veal named to third team; Wilridge, Gordon on honorable mention team

BATON ROUGE – After helping the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball team to its best record in over a decade and culminated by Women’s Basketball Invitational title, Keke Veal, Kia Wilridge and Jaylyn Gordon were named to the All-Louisiana Women’s Basketball team that was released by the organization.

Veal, a junior from Opelousas, was a third-team selection while Wilridge and Gordon were each named to the honorable mention team.

Veal, who was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference team last month, led Louisiana in scoring (14.9 ppg.), assists (3.3) and was second on the team in steals (2.3). The junior was named to the all-tournament team at the Sun Belt Conference Championships before being named the Most Valuable Player at the Women’s Basketball Invitational.

Wilridge, a junior from Crowley, averaged 12.3 points per game and finished tied for the team-lead with 4.5 rebounds per game while leading the Sun Belt Conference and finishing 22nd nationally with 2.9 steals per game.
