Sports on the Run

Thad Weber and Ted Weber added a six-under-par 66 Sunday to their first-day 63, and those two rounds were good enough to win the championship flight of the Firecracker Four Ball at Hebert Municipal.

The Webers went into Sunday’s second round with a one-shot lead over Donnie Chauvin and Pat Breaux, and were never headed in winning the championship flight by three strokes with the 15-under 129 total. Chauvin and Breaux tied with Jody Lormand and Bill Land for second at 12-under 132, with Lormand and Land matching that day’s best score with a 66.

James and Paul Hamilton also had a 66 Sunday and tied for fourth at 133 with Mike Guidry and David Duhon.

Richard Horecky and Johnny Roberts, the first-day leader after a 69, won the first flight on a scorecard playoff with Brent and Ronald Castille after each finished at three-under 141. Elton Miller and Vince Thibodeaux won the second flight by four strokes with a two-under 142 after shooting 69 in Sunday’s final round.

Thad’s profile is posted in the Athletic Network, along with other Weber brothers.
