Volleyball: UL’s Hole on All-Louisiana team – Tonice White & Chanelle Gardner, honorable mention

BATON ROUGE — Andrea Hole, who directed one of the top offenses in the Sun Belt Conference, was one of three members of the UL Ragin’ Cajuns volleyball team selected to the 2013 All-Louisiana Volleyball team in a release by the organization.

Hole, who was a second-team selection, was joined on the squad by honorable mention picks Tonice White and Chanelle Gardner.

In her first season as the Cajuns’ starting setter, Hole ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference with 10.52 assists per set en route to earning second-team All-SBC honors. The Oslo, Norway native was twice named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week and finished second for the Cajuns in attack percentage (.260) and digs per set (2.96).

Hole, who recorded 18 double-doubles on the season posted 20 matches with 30 or more assists, including a career-high 63 assists in a win over Southern Miss. She added 54 assists against Chattanooga and 50 in matches against Georgia State and averaged 10.46 assists in Sun Belt play.

White finished second for the Ragin’ Cajuns in kills per set (2.56), blocks (0.60), and hitting percentage (.249) while earning second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors. One of three players to play in every set (109) for the Ragin’ Cajuns, she finished as the team leader in kills per set (2.86) and points per set (3.23) in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Houston native recorded 16 matches with double-digit kills and hit .300 or better in 15 matches on the season. White posted career-high in kills (22) against UT Arlington and tied her career-high in solo blocks (4) and points (23.5) in a win over Southern Miss.

Gardner averaged 1.74 kills per set and led the Ragin’ Cajuns in blocks per set (0.93). She started in 28 of 31 matches played during the season and posted career-highs in kills (17) and blocks (8.0) in a win over Chattanooga.

The St. Martinville native hit .300 or better in nine matches during the season and posted 12 matches on the season with four or more blocks. Gardner recorded nine kills and five blocks in an upset win over No. 29-ranked WKU.
