Volleyball: Ragin’ Cajuns Close 2016-17 Season With Team Banquet

Stacey Reilly, Jessica Bartczyszyn and Sydney Davis each received MVP awards for fall season effort 

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Volleyball program honored members for outstanding achievement during the annual team banquet held on Thursday, April 27 in the University Club at the UL Lafayette Student Union.
 
Head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot and her staff presented awards to individual players for accomplishments in both the fall and spring playing segments of the 2016-17 season.
 
Chanelle Gardner, the team’s lone senior, carried on the program’s senior class tradition of presenting awards to their teammates. The team reciprocated with an award for Gardner.
 
Stacey Reilly (Player of the Year), Jessica Bartczyszyn (Offense) and Sydney Davis (Defense) each received MVP awards. Chloe Cordell and Nia Antoine were named Most Improved.
 
Special presentations were held to celebrate Antoine’s selection as Sun Belt Player of the Week for her performance on the Coastal Carolina-Appalachian State trip last October and Gardner’s 1,000th career kill which she collected on Senior Night.
