LAFAYETTE – Continuing the revival of her All-Sun Belt caliber of play from the previous two seasons, Hali Wisnoskie averaged over 4.0 kills per set for the second consecutive weekend – and the third time in the past month – landing her the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week award for matches played Nov. 4-10.

The Columbus, Texas, native scored kills at a rate of 4.43 per set on a .308 hitting percentage as Louisiana swept ULM last weekend and secured a bid in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament (Nov. 21-24 in San Marcos, Texas).

Wisnoskie delivered match-highs of 19 kills on Friday and 12 kills on Sunday,  extending her current streak of consecutive matches reaching double digits to eight straight dating back to Oct. 18.

The production on Friday marked her third consecutive outing with at least 18 kills, and came on the heels of a career-high 25 the previous Sunday vs. conference champion Texas State. On Sunday, she reached double digits in kills the quickest this season, reaching 10 kills by the 21st attack attempt.

It’s the fourth overall career Sun Belt Weekly award for Wisnoskie, who was a three-time recipient of the SBC Freshman of the Week honor in 2017. She’s the first Ragin’ Cajun named SBC Offensive Player of the Week since Nia Antoine back in October 2016.

She’s the second Ragin’ Cajun honored in 2019, joining Celeste Darling who collected a freshman of the week honor on Sept. 9.

Louisiana concludes regular season play Friday-Saturday, Nov. 15-16 on the road in the state of Arkansas, competing in Sun Belt Conference rematches against Arkansas State and Little Rock. The Ragin’ Cajuns first stop is in Jonesboro on Friday for a 5 p.m. meeting with the Red Wolves. The trip concludes Saturday evening in Little Rock with first serve against the Trojans set for 6:30 p.m.

The official Sun Belt Conference Tournament bracket, and Louisiana’s seeding for the event, wlll be determined following the conclusion of matches on Sunday, Nov. 17.
