USA Boxing Hall of Fame Inductees Include Former SLI Boxers

The USA Boxing Hall of Fame and awards banquet held recently in Lafayette inducted the following former Ragin’ Cajuns Boxers:

Val "Bubba" Mayers, 1951-54, UL Intramural Champion; four-time district champion; Mayers beat Leo Camova (3-time state and national champ) for district; undefeated for last three years; finished wit a record of 85-4.

Louis Campbell, SLI intercollegiate heavy weight and national Golden Gloves Champion;
