University Graduates Have Outstanding Year as Prep Basketball Coaches – Three State ChampionshipsIt has been an outstanding year for three university graduates, as all three were head basketball coaches of Lafayette Parish Teams which won state championships. Danny Broussard, St. Thomas More; Byron Starks, Lafayette Christian Academy; and Christopher Kovatch, Carencro High School all won state championship earlier this month. Additionally, two other UL grads – Wesley Cortese is Danny Broussard’s assistant coach and La’Ryan Gary is Christopher Kovatch’s assistant.
