UL Lafayette to hold fall graduation ceremonies outdoors over two daysLeigh Guidry, The Advertiser, Dec. 1, 2020 Click here for the photo gallery of the in-person, Nov. 7th, Spring 2020 graduation. Fall graduates at the University of Louisiana Lafayette will get their chance to mark this milestone in person next week, but it will look different than ceremonies of past years. Rather than gathering together as a general assembly in the Cajundome, grads will take part only in individual college commencement ceremonies, which will take place at different outdoor venues over two days to meet COVID-19 restrictions and "ensure the health and safety of attendees," the university announced Tuesday. Individual ceremonies for six of UL Lafayette’s eight academic colleges are set for Dec. 8, with ceremonies for two academic colleges and the Graduate School following the next day. They will take place at Cajun Field and Lamson and Russo parks. Fall 2020 commencement ceremonies also can be viewed via livestream by clicking on the names of the colleges below. The schedule of ceremonies is as follows: Tuesday, Dec. 8Cajun Field
Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park
M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park
Wednesday, Dec. 9Cajun Field
M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park Parking for family and friends who have tickets for individual ceremonies will be available outside each venue. Seating for graduates and spectators will be arranged to ensure social distancing. Guests and graduates will be required to wear masks or face coverings. Sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the stadium. The university’s clear bag policy will be in place. Attendees can carry one small, clear bag and one small purse or clutch. University Police officers will examine bags and purses.
