Tributes to Coach Bustle Continue – Pat McDonald and Charles Goodson – Letters to Editors

A FAMILY ABOVE

Perhaps only a handful of volunteers are aware of Coach Bustle’s work in rebuilding not only the football program, but the athletic facility as well, in his first year at UL.  After a long day at "The Office", Coach Bustle was helping break out walls, hauling debris, or on his hands and knees laying flooring tiles, until late in the evenings…not a site likely seen at any other division one program.  He was given the daunting task of fielding a winning program with the burden of a money game philosophy, one that decimated the team with numerous injuries, year in and year out.

The Bustle family’s work in the community extended to his wife and son as well.  His wife Lynn working after hours lending great support to organizations such as Acadiana Outreach, making Palates and Pate’ a much better event as a result of her efforts.  His son Brad playing through injuries with heart and soul and always in attendance at other UL events, supporting his fellow athletes.

Their departure leaves a void in our community.  We wish them all of the best at their next stop.

Letters to the Editor – Daily Advertiser

The Goodson family would like to thank Rickey and Lynn Bustle for the last nine years! Thank you for bringing your work ethic, integrity and great positive attitude to Acadiana and sharing it with so many students, athletes and people in our community.

We are sure you will continue to make a big contribution whereever you go — we hope it’s here in Acadiana. If you want to make a difference like Rickey and Lynn, buy season tickets in your favorite sports and join the Ragin Cajun Athletic Fund, no amount is too small!

Thanks again.
