Track & Field: Reunion set for March 16-17 with special recognition of All-Americans & Olympians

Within the next two weeks, a packet of information will be sent by regular mail and also electronically by the Athletic Network.
Please check your profile and if information needs to be updated, please email
athleticnetwork@louisiana.edu  ASAP.

Also, please reach out to your track & field teammates and encourage them to post their profile on the AN. We can only successfully send information when contact numbers are current. 

This email is to provide each of you with information on lodging costs, and a preliminary agenda of activities.  Additionally, we are asking each of you to reach out to those teammates you know and pass the word.  Our theme is “Building the Base”.  We have a tremendous number of teammates that we have not been able to reach for lack of current contact information. 

After each of the previous Reunions we have received word that some didn’t know about it until it was over or too late to make or change arrangements to be able to attend. 

Help us reach out to ALL former T & F and CC teammates, Coaches, Managers and Trainers. Let the decision to attend or not be a choice…. not because they didn’t know about it.  We have been setting up Team Captains or Co-Captains to assist with the outreach to Build the Base.

In preparation for the Reunion all former Track & Field performers who served as either Team Captain or Team Co-captains while on the SLI/USL/UL team are asked to contact Stewart Blue at stublue5186@prodigy.net  or 337.984.7514 or Tommy Badon at tbadon@wcala.org or 337.948.8607.

Please identify the calendar years you were on the team, the years you served as captain or co-captain, your email address and phone number. Please do this ASAP so the T/F Captains Network can be established. 

The Committee is discussing holding Reunions every 2-3 years so you do not want to miss this one!!!

Lodging:  Host Hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn Lafayette/Cajundome

Room Rates $92 per night for Queen/Queen or King 

Please book your rooms at this Hotel as they are providing all of the rooms for our Friday Evening Social free of charge and allowing us to bring in our food and drinks.  We really need to support them.

Registration Costs: Will be sent soon  – this will cover Friday evening food/drink and activities, Saturday’s entrance to the Classic Meet, and Saturday evenings Banquet Dinner at the Petroleum Club. There will be a Cash Bar Saturday evening.

Activities: Friday evening Social 6pm until

Saturday morning picture-taking at UL Track. Bring your cameras. Starts at 10am. 

Saturday afternoon UL Classic Track Meet with acknowledgement of all alumni who attend.

Saturday evening Dinner will be at the Petroleum Club with Special Recognition of All-Americans and Olympians. We will also recognize the Year with the Most Attendees present, who traveled the farthest, and the oldest alumni present, etc.
