Track & Field: Louisiana’s Brazil Headed To NCAA Indoor Track Championships

Senior posted nation’s second-fastest time in 60-meter dash this season

INDIANAPOLIS – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns sprinter Jeryl Brazil was among a group of student-athletes from across the country chosen to compete in the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships, in an announcement on Tuesday by the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee.

The championships will be held March 9 and 10 in College Station, Texas, and hosted by Texas A&M.

Brazil qualified for the NCAA Indoor after posting the second-fastest time (6.55) in the 60-meter dash. Brazil’s school-record, which came at the LSU Bayou Bengal, was also the 12th-fastest time in the world during the indoor season.

ESPN3 will stream the meet live starting at 5:30 p.m., on March 9 and starting at 4 p.m., on March 10. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 6 p.m., Sunday, March 11 on ESPN2.
