Track & Field: Fournette, Vani Compete At NCAA Track And Field Championships

FOURNETTE, VANI COMPETE AT NCAA TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

EUGENE, Ore. – Seniors Albert Fournette and Michael Vani each concluded their standout careers for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns track and field team as the duo competed late Wednesday at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Outdoor Championships at historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.

 

Fournette, a 2012 second-team All-American who was competing in the shot put, finished 19th overall after recording a throw of 60 feet, 1.25 inches. Vani, making his debut in the NCAA Championships, finished 21st overall in the men’s pole vault after clearing the bar at 16-8.75.

 

Ryan Crouser of Texas claimed the men’s shot put title after posting a throw of  69-3 while Sam Kendricks of Ole Miss earned the individual title in the pole vault after posting a mark of 18-8.
