Track & Field: Fournette Finishes 12th Overall At USATF Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns standout Albert Fournette will make his final collegiate appearance when he competes in the shot put on Wednesday at the 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships.

Qualifying action in the men’s shot put is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CDT with the finals set for 8:15 p.m. Live results and a live video stream will be available at www.RaginCajuns.com.

Fournette, ranked No. 6 nationally in the shot put, earned first-place honors in his first seven meets of the season and qualified for the NCAA Championships after a sixth-place finish at the NCAA East Preliminary Round.

The New Orleans native, who will be one of 18 athletes entered in the event, set a Ragin’ Cajuns- and Sun Belt Conference record in the shot put with a throw of 65 feet, 11 inches at the SBC Championships last month in San Marcos, Texas.
