Track & Field: Cormier’s Season-Best Leads Ragin’ Cajuns At Tiger Track Classic

 

AUBURN, Ala.   Morgan Cormier posted a season-best time in the men s 400-meter hurdles while Alexandra Harrell earning a 10th-place finish in the women s high jump to help pace the Louisiana Ragin  Cajuns track and field team at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic that concluded on Saturday at Hutsell-Rosen Track.

 

Jacob Chicola earned an eighth-place finish (10:01.11) in the men s 3,000-meter steeplechase for Louisiana with Courtney Musgrove finishing ninth overall (17:53.09) in the women s 5,000-meter run.

 

Cormier posted Louisiana s best finish during the two-day meet with a fifth-place performance in 53.47. Tyler Hughes recorded a time of 14.68 in the men s 110-meter hurdles to finish eighth overall for the Ragin  Cajuns with Bismarck Ebiweh finishing 15th in the 100-meter dash (10.85), Sean Bezdek 13th in the 3,000-meter run (8:59.12) and Matt Rice 17th in the 3,000-meter run (9:10.09).

 

Freshman Kyle Baudoin finished 10th in the pole vault for Louisiana, clearing the bar at 16 feet,   inches. Hunter Stelly was 12th (170-2) and Josh Cecil 14th (165-9) in the javelin for the Ragin  Cajuns with Franz Beyer finishing 13th in the high jump (6-5  ) and Richard Delphin 14th in the discus (153-4).

 

Harrell cleared the bar at 5-7 to lead Louisiana in the women s high jump with Lindsey Harmon finishing 19th (5-5). Chelcie Sonnier (121-4) and Madison Meche (117-1) finished 10th and 12th for the Ragin  Cajuns in the javelin with Jasmin Fusilier placing 14th in the long jump (18-6) and Tamela Young 15th in the shot put (43-0  ).

 

Alena Hrusoci earned an 11th-place finish in the 400-meter dash (55.14) for Louisiana with Kayla Thompson earning an 18th-place finish in the 200-meter dash (24.81) and Claire Hodges 22nd in the 1,500-meter run (4:46.80). The women s 4×100-meter relay team finished ninth overall at 47.09.

 

Louisiana will return to action on Friday when it travels to Hammond to compete in the Southeastern Lion Invitational.
