Ragin’ Cajuns softball fans are a proud bunch. Remember last year when a sports writer from Mississippi bashed Lafayette after spending the weekend covering a tournament at Lamson Park?

Fans were understandably outraged, but displayed true Cajun spirit by inviting him back so they could show him a better time. There was even a petition to help him get his job back after he was fired for his comments.

Turns out those fans are proud Americans, too.

On Sunday, the hometown crowd was not happy when the national anthem was not played before the start of the NCAA Lafayette regional championship game between Louisiana-Lafayette and Baylor.

So they took matters into their own hands. Watch what happens.
