Softball: Wallace Wins Second Straight SBC Pitcher of the WeekLAFAYETTE, La. – For the second week in a row, Ragin’ Cajuns pitcher Jordan Wallace was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week. Wallace went 4-0 in three starts and one relief appearance, striking out 37 batters in 18.0 innings pitched, including a school and career-best 18 strikeouts in a seven-inning game on Sunday. Wallace, a sophomore from Weatherford, Texas is 19-6 on the season, with a 1.87 ERA. She has anchored the Cajuns during their current 12 game winning streak, and hasn’t allowed a run in 33.0 innings pitched. Her week was highlighted by her 18-strikeout performance on Sunday against Middle Tennessee, becoming the 31st player in NCAA history to strike out 18-or-more batters in seven-inning game. She picked up wins in her other two starts, as well as one out of relief. The award marks the fifth time this season a member of the Ragin’ Cajuns won a conference award, and the seventh time in Wallace’s career she was given the honor.
