Elkins gave the Cajuns a 2-0 lead with two-run double after Natalie Fernandez and Hayden reached base to open the game, and Vincent made it 3-0 on the next at-bat, scoring Elkins. Hayden added to the Cajuns lead with a two-run home run, scoring Corin Voinché, in the second inning, and a pair of RBI singles in the third from Vincent and Shellie Landry would make it 7-0, Cajuns lead. The Cajuns would step up the power for the rest of the game, scoring the next six runs via the home run. Corbello hit a three-run home run, scoring Redfearn and Samantha Walsh in the fourth, before back-to-back home runs in the fifth. Vincent hit a two-run homer, scoring pinch runner Meagan Thomas, and Redfearn followed that up with her homer, to make it 13-0. With the Cajuns up 13 in the bottom of the fifth, Wallace came in to finish the game, and clinch the weekend sweep for the Cajuns. The Cajuns will continue their current road trip on Wednesday, March 26, when they travel to Houston to take on the Houston Cougars for a midweek doubleheader, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. The Cajuns will then return home to continue Sun Belt play when they welcome Texas State to town.
