For the second consecutive week, the Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns have grabbed the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week award.  After Ashley Brignac was honored last week, Christina Hamilton picked up the award this week.

The Leesville native started two games for No.16 Louisiana at the Ragin’ Cajuns Invitational, going 2-0 and not allowing a run.  In fact, Hamilton has yet to allow a run in her brief collegiate career.

The freshman right-hander threw a perfect game in her collegiate debut on February 11 against Rhode Island.  The Rosepine High School product threw a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts against Maine on Friday as the Cajuns defeated the Black Bears 11-0.

She came back on Saturday and shut down the Black Bears again, this time in a 9-0 win.  Hamilton went the entire seven innings, giving up just three hits and striking out seven.

The Cajuns will return to action this weekend when they play away from home for the first time this season.  The 16^th ranked Ragin’ Cajuns will travel to McNeese State to take part in the Cowgirl Classic on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
