Soccer: Soccer Garners NSCAA Team Academic Award Honors

 LAFAYETTE — The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns soccer program earned the National College Soccer Association of America Award after posting a 3.25 team GPA for the 2014-15 school year, as announced by the NSCAA office. 

This marks the third-consecutive year the Cajuns soccer program has earned the team honor (at least 3.25 team GPA in all three years). In order to qualify for the national academic award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year. 

Since 2003, the Cajuns have recorded at least a 3.0 team GPA 11 times (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015). This marks the ninth time the Cajuns have earned the honor under the watch of head coach Scot Wieland

The Cajuns (6-3-1) open Sun Belt Conference play this Friday, Sept. 25 at Georgia Southern for a 6 p.m. (7 p.m. EDT) first kick.
