KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ragin’ Cajuns soccer’s senior defender Grace Howell-Harries and sophomore midfielder Kimberly Grasso have been selected to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women’s All-South Region Third Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

A 2014 All-Sun Belt Conference First Team selection, Howell-Harries garnered region honors for the second time in her career after being selected to the NSCAA All-South Region Second Team in 2013.

In 2014, Howell-Harries led the Cajuns in minutes for the third-straight season, totaling 1,562 in 18 matches. She played the full 90 minutes 14 times, twice recording a season-high 110 minutes this season. A native of London, Ontario, Canada, Howell-Harries has served as a captain for Louisiana the past two seasons. In 2014, she recorded two assists, tallying one of those in Louisiana’s record-setting 10-1 win over Alcorn State on Sept. 21. In 2013, Howell-Harries was named SBC Defensive Player of the Year while also being selected first team all-conference and garnering All-Louisiana First Team accolades. As a freshman in 2011, she earned All-SBC Second Team honors.

A native of Houma, Louisiana, Grasso earned all-region honors for the first time in her career after being named to the 2014 All-SBC Second Team last month.

In 2014, Grasso played in all 19 matches with 13 starts on the season, finishing fourth on the team in minutes played with 1,118 and first among Louisiana midfielders. She recorded five goals for 10 points, tying for third on the team in goals scored while ranking fourth in points. This season, Grasso helped the Cajuns to 47 goals and 121 points, both program records, to rank as one of the top offenses in the country.

Louisiana finished the season 9-8-2, tying for the second-most wins in program history. The Cajuns went 7-2-1 at home in 2014, finishing one win shy of tying the program wins record at the Cajuns Soccer Complex.
