Gridiron Alumni – Blackjack Memorial set for April 8 at Acadian Hills Country Club
The Gridiron Alumni’s annual fund raising golf scramble, the Blackjack Memorial, is set for April 8 at Acadian Hills Country Club.  Each year the Gridiron buys equipment for the team, supports the RCAF and UL Alumni Association, hosts reunion tailgates, cooks for the team twice a year and sponsors the Blue Collar offensive and defensive awards at the annual team banquet.  This year we are specifically targeting the newly formed Nelson Stokley Football Scholarship which will go to a former UL athlete’s son, or an in-state player, once it is fully funded.

The Gridiron’s work is done with the help of financial donations from you so please consider attending and/or sponsoring this golf scramble in honor of long time equipment manager Bill “Blackjack” Landry, who served generations of Cajuns for over 30 years.

The annual golf scramble also coincides with the UL spring football game and cookout for the team.  The spring game is scheduled for April 9 at 6:00 PM.  We will coordinate a reunion for former players, coaches, trainers and managers for this weekend.  If you would like more information, please contact Marty Cannon at 337-501-0960, Clarence Glenn at 337-319-5045, Antonio Bourgeois at 337-319-6896, Kevin Guilbeau at 337-962-6736, Shawn Stokley at 337-298-8043 or Ryan Poisso at 318-680-2735.  You can also log on to http://gridironalumni.ning.com for updates on the Gridiron Alumni’s activities.

Your help and support is greatly appreciated.
