Record-Breaking Year of Fundraising for Ragin’ Cajuns and RCAF

Louisiana Athletics finishes fiscal year with more than $12 million in cash and new pledges

LAFAYETTE – Momentum on and off the fields of play has never been higher for Louisiana Athletics as the Ragin’ Cajuns closed the latest fiscal year with the most cash donations and pledges in the history of the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF).

Back-to-back record-breaking years have occurred with guidance and leadership from Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard and the RCAF staff. Investments are put directly towards fostering success for Louisiana’s more than 400 student-athletes.

"We are certainly pleased with this accomplishment and are extremely grateful for all of our investors and Cajun Nation, as a whole" Maggard said. "Growing our resources will continue to be a focus moving forward as we prioritize graduating our student-athletes and positioning them to compete for and win championships."

Enhancements in the student-athlete experience for the Ragin’ Cajuns have occurred with the increase in philanthropic efforts, bringing about improvements to many areas, including: facilities, academics, recruiting, nutrition, strength and conditioning and staffing.

Louisiana’s $12.4 million raised topped last year’s $10.8 million, completing a growth in funds raised by more than 14 percent. Cash and new pledges were a sum of investments in Louisiana’s annual giving, scholarship endowments, facility campaign gifts, sport-specific giving and premium seat donations.

The new record mark of $12.4 million is the most raised in the 10-year history of the RCAF organization.
