Organization works to enhance fundraising and support efforts for Louisiana Athletics’ 16 sport programs

LAFAYETTE – The Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF) Board of Directors will have five new members for the 2019-20 athletic season, the organization announced on Friday.

Joining the board, which serves key roles in the RCAF’s growing of the annual fund and support of capital projects, will be: Yvette Girouard, Eric Haik, Elliot Myers, Gus Rantz and Jerry Vascocu.

"In my short time with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, I’ve realized how vital of a role the RCAF Board plays in our fundraising efforts," RCAF Executive Director Lee De León said. "The addition of these five new board members will only enhance the tremendous impact the organization is able to make on our student-athletes."

One of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ all-time great coaches, Girouard is the former head coach of Louisiana Softball. Haik works locally as an attorney with Haik, Minvielle & Grubbs in New Iberia. Elliot serves as a nurse practitioner and an administrator for LHC Group, a partner of Louisiana Athletics. Rantz currently serves as the president of Acadiana Management Group. Vascocu is the market president of Iberiabank for the Lafayette, New Iberia and community markets of Louisiana.

"RCAF is honored to add these five new board members," Chairman of the Board Bryan Hanks said. "Individually, each is an outstanding person and community leader, while also possessing a passion for Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics. Each has a vision to continue to grow our University. Collectively, they represent a fantastic cross section of our overall community and have the ability to help with our organization’s fundraising needs and obligations. They will lend insight, vision and knowledge toward achieving all of RCAF’s goals."

The RCAF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded in 2009 and serves as the official fundraising organization of Louisiana Athletics. The Board of Director consists of 25 members who volunteer to help provide resources to enhance the experience of Louisiana’s more than 450 student-athletes.
