Ragin’™ Cajuns Golf Splits Matches At Southern Collegiate Match Play

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns golf team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the 2nd annual Southern Collegiate Match Play held at the at the par-71, 6,902-yard Hattiesburg Country Club.
 
Louisiana fell to conference foe South Alabama 3-2 in the morning match with junior Triston Elston winning 2 and 1 over Brooks Rabren while sophomore Jack Tolson claimed a 3 and 1 decision against Peter Staalbo. Freshman Bjorn Gudjonsson dropped a hard fought match to Rasmus Karlissn falling 1 up.
 
In the afternoon consolation match, the Ragin’ Cajuns defeated Louisiana Tech 3-2. Tolson led the way defeating Fredrick Hayden 4 and 3. Peter Hinnant captured a 3 and 2 victory over Max Kettler, while Elston notched his second win of the day besting Karsten Green 2 and 1.
 
The Cajuns return to action April 16-17 at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship hosted by Mississippi State at the Old Waverly Golf Course in West Point, Miss.
