William Ernest Arms – Obituary

March 9, 1997

Graduate of St. Aloysius HS NOLA, Mississippi College(JC) and SLI where he played for Coach "Dutch" Reinhart. During his working career he was President and Director of Ormond Golf and Country Club, Chateau Golf and Country Club and Lafayette Men’s Golf Association. He was also Director of the Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Lafayette Safety Commission and the Lafayette Recreation Department. Member of the Kenner Business Association, Harvey Canal Industrial Association, Bank Marketing Association, American Bankers Association, Louisiana Bankers Association, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kiwanis Club of Lafayette and the Rotary Club of Gentilly. He was the District President for eight years of the Louisiana Coaches Association, vice chairman of the Louisiana Heart Association, and an officer of: Colonial Bank of NO, Gulf South Bank of Gretna, and Merchants Bank of Kenner. He spent 20 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director and administrator at Lafayette and Cathedral HS in Lafayette, and St. Aloysius HS of NO. He was a Navy veteran from WW 2.
