Obituary: William “Bill” Cyrus Brown, Jr. – Football 1961 – March 12, 2016William C. Brown, Jr. "Big Daddy", went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2016. Services will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Thursday, March 17th at 3 PM with visitation from 1-3 PM. Interment to be at Roselawn Cemetery, Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by wife, Ellouise McBeth Brown; parents, W.C. Brown, Sr. and Mary Gordon Setton Brown. He is survived by wife, Susan Freshwater Brown; daughters, Cindy Bemister, Billie Brown and Nicole Mabry; son, Randy Brown; grandson, Austin Brown and 10 other grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was a graduate of DSHS Class of 1961 where he excelled in football and baseball. He played football at USL, SLU and was a defensive tackle for the Hammond Eagles semi-pro football team. He considered being a little league baseball coach for 15 years as one of his proudest accomplishments. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union 623. He served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid LSU sports fan and a die-hard New York Yankee’s fan. He loved good times with his family, friends, awesome food and making everybody laugh. Pallbearers: Maurice Durbin, Rebecca McDonald, Butch Wax, Mike Bemister, Jim Brown, Austin Brown. Honorary pallbearers include the DSHS classmates of 1961.
