Obituary: Velma Davis Hobgood – Red Jacket – October 30, 2014 Velma Davis Hobgood, a native of McCrea and resident of Batchelor passed away at 3:45 pm Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her home in Batchelor, La. She was 92 and a a graduate of SLI, currently UL and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Red Jackets. She was retired from the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board where she taught for 30 years at Innis High School. Lifelong member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church and ECW. Visiting at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Innis, La. on Sunday November 2, 2014 from 11 am until Mass of Christian Burial in the church at 1 pm., conducted by Rev. Dr. Peter Kang, Rev. Walter Palmer Hobgood Jr. Interment in St. Stephens Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Lyndahl Irene Fuselier and husband Charles Auguste of St. Martinville, La., Mary Katharine (Kate) Watts and husband Robert (Bobby) of Zachary, La., Leslie Ann Grezaffi and husband Andrew Anthony Grezaffi Jr. of Batchelor, La; son and daughter-in-law Reverand Walter Palmer Hobgood Jr. and wife Gail Reidie of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren, Charles Auguste Fuselier Jr. and wife Julie of St. Martinville, La., Rebeccah Fuselier Smith and husband O.C. III of Baton Rouge, La., Elizabeth Fuselier of New Iberia, La., Amber Elizabeth Teegarten and husband Mike of Aldie, Virginia, Michael Walter Hobgood and wife Emily of St. Louis, Missouri, Teresa Lyn Sage and husband William of Ramstein, Germany, Brian Palmer Watts of Central, LA., Katharine Watts Dobson and husband Howard of Central, LA., Elizabeth Grezaffi Baugh of Covington, LA., Andrew Anthony Grezaffi III and wife Kelle of St. Francisville, LA., Walter Hobgood Grezaffi and wife Kristen of Batchelor, LA; and great grandchildren, Charles A. Fuselier III and wife Patricia, Lauren Fuselier Segera and husband Tyler, Staci Fuselier, Ivey and Kate Smith, Ryan Boudreaux, Ellie and Katie Teegarten, Reese and Brynn Hobgood, Caleb and Anna Beth Sage, Madyson and Mikayla Watts, Howard Dobson III, Beth Ann Baugh, Charles David, Andrew Anthony, Anna Kleinpeter and Mary Davis Grezaffi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Palmer Hobgood, parents, David Leatherman Davis and Lucy Irene Goode Davis, sisters, Lucy Davis Wanersdorfer, Doris Davis Creed. Pallbearers are Charles Auguste Fuselier Jr., Michael Walter Hobgood, Charles Auguste Fuselier III, Brian Palmer Watts, Andrew Anthony Grezaffi III, Walter Hobgood Grezaffi.
