Obituary: Twilet Nadine Alexander – Track & Field 1991-93 – July 10, 2019

Twilet Nadine Alexander

1969 – 2019

Twilet Nadine Alexander, 50, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Astley and Yvonne Malcolm.  Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 21 years, Patrise Alexander; son, Shamal Alexander; daughter, Jurney Alexander; brothers, Winston Royes, Patrick Malcolm, Vincent Malcolm, Lacelle Malcolm; sisters, Karlene Malcom and Janice Malcom Breske; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Fitness and exercise were extremely important to Twilet.  She was a Collegiate All-American at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she ran track.  Twilet would go on to run professionally and competed in the 1992 Barcelonan Olympics where she ran for her home country of Jamaica.  She was an educator for many years and worked for the New Iberia and Houston Independent School Districts.  Twilet began her career as a Special Education Coordinator before becoming Director of the Varnett Charter School.  Over the 12 years, she worked at Varnett, she touched many young lives and inspired all her students to succeed in everything they did.  After retirement, Twilet followed her passion and opened her own personal gym, Jahmon, in Missouri City, Texas where she could help others realize their full potential.  She was truly a jack-of-all-trades that enjoyed working out, CrossFit, writing, cooking and crocheting.  Twilet will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Twilet will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with the memorial service following at 11:00 am.
