Obituary: Thomas C. “T.C.” Wiggins Jr. – Super Fan, Veteran – December 23, 2017

1926 – 2017

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Thomas C. "T.C." Wiggins, Jr., 91, who passed away on December 23, 2017, peacefully at home.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

T.C., a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Thomas C. Wiggins, Sr. and the former Irma Grevenberg.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Dennis) Robison of Lafayette; sons, Thomas "Tom" Wiggins, III, James "Jim" Wiggins and Robert "Rob" (Cindy) all of Lafayette; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, DeLorace G. Wiggins and one sister, Josephine "Jo" Wiggins.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home – Bertrand on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 9:00 am until time of service

Pallbearers will be Wallace Thibeaux, Dennis Robison, Donald Thibodeaux, Jason Wiggins, Jimbo Wiggins and Tommy Wiggins.

T.C. served in the U. S. Army during WWII in Central Europe under General George S. Patton. Upon returning he married DeLorace Guidry on February 13, 1949.

T.C. began his business with Jim Fournet (Wiggins and Fournet) in 1949 with dump trucks and dragline services. In 1960, he started Wiggins Janitorial and Floor refinishing which is currently run by his son, Robert. He was an avid SLI/USL/ULL supporter with season tickets to football, basketball, baseball and softball. T.C. attended his first football game in 1936 at age 10.

He and DeLorace shared a passion for collecting Heisey Crystal and traveling with close friends.
