Obituary: John Scott Sibille – Football 1982-85 – January 6, 2018Dr. John Scott Sibille March 20, 1964 – January 6, 2018 Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Dr. John Scott Sibille, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Officiating the mass will be Reverend Wayne Duet, Reverend Ted Broussard, and Reverend Davy Rozas. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Sibille, age 53, a resident of Sunset, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2017 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Paulette Olivier Sibille of Sunset; sons, Breaux Sibille of Lafayette, and Ross Sibille of Sunset; daughter, Julia Sibille Olivier and husband, Mark of Sunset; brothers, Irwin “Tony” Sibille, Jr. of Lafayette, and William “Billy” Sibille and wife, Suzanne Deslatte, of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Lisa Sibille Dooley and husband, Patrick of New Iberia, and Wendy Sibille Saracino and husband, Jason of Sunset; grandchildren, Prim Taylor and Maverick Scott Olivier; sister-in-laws, Hollie Delery Lilley of Lafayette, Debra Olivier Robertson and husband, George of Carencro, Cynthia Olivier Rozas and husband, Lynn of Franklin, and Rebecca Olivier Pellerin and husband, Craig of Franklin;19 nieces and nephews, and 6 godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irwin and Jeanette Sibille. The family requests visitation be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Words of Comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com.
