James Lymon Kendrick November 12, 1944-December 13, 2009 Jim was last sighted running in the Bear Canyon area and has since moved on to MUCH higher ground. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA and grew up in many places with his dad being in the Army. After graduating from UL Lafayette in 1968, Jim served as an Air Force Captain in Tucson where he met his soul mate and best friend. He married Pat and worked as a loan officer for Chase until his retirement in 2001. Jim’s passion was running and working out at Tucson Racquet Club. He participated in many marathons and was training for an Ironman when cancer struck four years ago. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat of 37 years; father, Col. Robert Kendrick (Ret.); brother, Robert Kendrick (Nancy); sister, Sue Stancil, many nieces and nephews and his faithful dogs, Nike and Reebok. Friends are invited to a Celebration of his life at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009. Donations can be made to Peppi’s Hospice or a charity of your choice. Strangers soon became Jim’s best friend and every road less traveled by some became his favorite running course.
