ARCADIA, LA -Services for James Dennis Sanford, Sr., 87, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2000 at Arcadia First United Methodist Church, Arcadia, LA. Officiating will be Dr . Wayne Evans and Rev. Robert Peyton. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2000 at the funeral home.
Mr. Sanford, a resident of Plano, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2000 at Life Care Center, Plano, Texas. He was born in Reform, Alabama and was a former resident of Arcadia , LA. Mr. Sanford retired from Soil Conservation Service, was a member of Arcadia First United Methodist Church and a veteran in the U.S. Army WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Hughen Sanford; and parents, Will Henry and Florence Pratt Sanford.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Deanna Sanford of Dallas, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Dave Grimm of Plano, Texas; sister, Mary Bell of Yazoo City , Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Lori and Russell Downey, Julie Grimm, Melanie Sanford, Aimee Grimm, Greg Grimm, Jim Sanford, Joe Sanford; two great-grandchildren, Ryan James Downey and Sarah Downey; numerous nieces and nephews.
