LAFAYETTE – A Celebration of Life Service for Carol Ann Richard, 66, who died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Lafayette, Louisiana, will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at her daughter’s residence in Lafayette. Graveside Inurnment Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Greenwood Cemetery, located on Evangeline Highway/Robert Avenue in Jennings, Louisiana. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Lennard Richard; two daughters, Jennifer Regina Richard and Michelle Richard-Domingue and her husband, Doug; three brothers, Robert "Bobby" Shuey, Jr. and his wife, Glenetta, Donald "Don" Shuey and his wife, Valerie and James "Jim" Shuey; her mother-in-law, Ella Mae Richard; and her good friend and sister at heart, Linda Anson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Diven Shuey, Sr. and Regina Catherine Labashousky Shuey; and her father-in-law, Alvin Richard. Carol Ann Shuey Richard was a native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life. She attended McNeese State University, and began her career with the Lafayette Parish School Board, where she remained a dedicated employee for over 20 years. Carol worked as a Secretary for the School Board office, and provided all of the Media Assistance and learning materials to teachers throughout Lafayette Parish. She loved pottery, sewing, painting and knitting and her artistic abilities were above and beyond. Carol also loved traveling, helping others and spending quality time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
