Ragin’ Cajuns Spirit Newsletter – Sandy & Skip Holloway Family – Nov. 27, 2018
This week the Athletic Network salutes the Ragin’ Cajuns Spirit. When viewers click on the caption below the Still Image Photo (SIP) above the News Box at www.athleticnetwork.net  they are taken to the photo gallery of the 1944 Oil Bowl, which was the culmination of the 1943 Football Season. Spirit and support for the team of military veterans was high at that time.

In preparation for the 2014 New Orleans Bowl, our Ragin’ Cajun Spirit was again at an all-time high, as attested by the photo of the Holloway Family from Thibodaux, La.  With our football team playing in the first SBC Championship game this week, our spirit is again very high. Congratulations to our entire football program, led by first-year coach Billy Napier. We are so proud to have them as our representatives in this historic game.

So who is the Holloway Family? Click on www.athleticnetwork.net and the family photo will appear above the News Box.
Skip and Sandy LeBlanc Holloway preparing some of their family for the December, 2014 New Orleans Bowl.
No better way to immerse grandchildren (Caleb, Jacques, Nona, Holland, Juliette, Hannah (dreams of being a UL cheerleader) and Caroline) in the spirit of being a Ragin’ Cajun! Skip and Sandy are graduates of USL. Skip graduated in Architecture and is a major supporter of the Ragin’ Cajuns. He is owner/president of Gossen, Holloway, Cortez & Associates. Sandy
LeBlanc Holloway is a graduate from the College of Education and a former Sweetheart (dance team) member. She is a former Lafourche Parish teacher, principal, and supervisor. Sandy is currently Director of Bayou Community Academy Charter School and a member of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, representing BESE District 3.

The Cajun Spirit is alive even through tough times. Although devastated by Hurricane Michael, some of the coaches, players and support staff of the Bobby Paschal era gathered in Tampa. Glenda and Bobby’s reports may be viewed on facebook using  "Glenda Diane Wiley" or "Bobby Paschal".  It’s a very short video.  We were in Tampa at Glory Days Grill on Friday, November 16.  It was a small gathering….here’s who was there….Bobby Paschal, Bobby Linda Bowman, Dennis & Lois Donaldson, Dwayne & Danna Olinger, Brent & Chelly Paschal, Marsha & Andy (Paschal-Martin), Graylin & Sonji Warner, Pop & Marie Turner, Dan Gay, Glenda Wiley, former MBB secretary and event organizer.

The football players from the 1960s continue their high level of school spirit by meeting for Homecoming each year. Please click on "Ragin’ Cajuns Reunions and Special Events" banner on the right side of the News Box and click on their event to view the report and photos provided by Tom Kelly and Cecil Fuselier. That event will be expanded next year to include the 1961-73 years, the Coach Russ Faulkinberry years.
