Military Page Created in History of UL Athletics Page – list of military veterans included

As an outgrowth of the 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Night held Nov. 21 during the UL-M football game at Cajun Field, the Athletic Network has established a tribute to those who were athletes or support group members and also served/are serving in the military. The page will be a work in progress for some time, but already over 100 veterans have been identified and posted.

At this time, the AN is collecting information on the military service of veterans for placement in their AN profile.

Remembering the VETERANS with appreciation and respect
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
So much gratitude is due the VETERAN.
