David Collins, Athletics Communications Assistant
LAFAYETTE – Vlad Kramarov, a member of the Louisiana Men’s Tennis team from 2014-18 and recent Louisiana graduate, earned 2018 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete Honors as a part of the 2018 ITA All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes that were announced on Tuesday, Jul. 24.
HOW DID VLAD GET THE HONOR: In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status Kramarov had to meet three pieces of criteria. First, he had to have earned a varsity letter during his time at Louisiana. Second, his grade point average had to be least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and finally he needed to have been enrolled at Louisiana for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
Kramarov met all of those criteria, finishing with a GPA of 3.8 and graduating with a degree in petroleum engineering, which in turn earned him ITA Scholar-Athlete honors following his senior year.
KRAMAROV ADDS TO THE LIST: The ITA Scholar-Athlete honors are not the first honor’s that Kramarov has earned due to his success in the classroom. He’s a two-time member of the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List (2015-16) and Kramarov was named to the 2015 ITA All-Academic Team to give him three academic honors during his four-year stint at Louisiana.
