Men’s Tennis: Men’s Tennis Defeats North Florida, 4-3 Tuesday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s tennis team (4-3) picked up their fourth victory of the season on Tuesday afternoon, prevailing over the North Florida Ospreys, 4-3. "Our guys battled today and stayed free but mentally engaged," Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "We knew it would be a marathon so we had the mindset to stay focused. "Today was a complete team effort," he added. "They stayed together and played for each other." North Florida took the doubles point as Zach Goldberg and Lasse Muscheites defeated Cajuns junior Eric Perez and senior Edgar Lopez, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles. The Ospreys swept doubles as Julian Bradley and Jonathan Deautriell defeated junior Will Huyton and freshman Arthur Libaud, 6-3. The Cajuns’ comeback bid came in singles competition as senior Jake Wynan prevailed over Jack Findel-Hawkins, 7-5, 6-4 in No. 1 singles. Libaud earned a No. 2 singles win over Bradley, 2-6, 7-6 (6-2), 6-4. In No. 3 singles, Lopez defeated Muscheites, 6-0, 6-4. No. 4 singles belonged to UNF’s Deautriell who took a 6-2, 6-2 victory over sophomore Vlad Kramarov. Zach Goldberg took a 6-0, 6-3 decision in No. 5 singles over Perez, while the Cajuns sealed the victory as junior Coleman Wahlborg eliminated Sahil Deshmukh, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
