Men’s Tennis: Louisiana Rallies To Earn 4-2 Victory Over UTSA

LAFAYETTE — After falling behind early in singles, the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s tennis team rallied to earn a 4-2 victory against UTSA on Saturday at Cajun Courts.


Coleman Wahlborg clinched the match for Louisiana (9-3) at No. 5 singles, posting a 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over UTSA’s Christian Carrillo while Arthur Libaud and Vlad Kramarov each earned straight-set victories for the Ragin’ Cajuns. 


Louisiana claimed the doubles point against UTSA (2-5) as the senior duo of Eric Perez and Coleman Wahlborg started the Cajuns off with a solid 6-1 victory on Court 1. Then at No. 2, with a 6-3 win, Libaud and Jamie Fraser clinched the doubles point for Louisiana while picking up their eighth straight victory as a team.


UTSA picked up singles victories at No. 6 and No. 2 for a 2-1 lead before Kramarov earned a 6-3, 6-4 win over Axel Cronje No. 3.


Libaud followed shortly after for Louisiana, revitalizing the team with his usual energy and a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kai Breitbach at No. 1.


Louisiana will return to action on Feb. 24 when it faces Southland Conference opponent Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Feb. 24. Admission is free.
