Men’s Tennis: Ivailo Keremedchiev Named Sun Belt Male Tennis Athlete of the Week

LAFAYETTE – Ragin Cajun Men’s Tennis player Ivailo Keremedchiev has been named the Sun Belt Male Tennis Athlete of the week, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Keremedchiev is coming off an impressive stretch while playing in his first spring at Louisiana winning three singles matches and three doubles matches. Keremedchiev’s most noteworthy win during the opening week came at Florida State when he beat the Seminoles’ No. 2 singles player Jaun Martin Jalif, 7-5, 6-4.
 
In doubles matches, Keremedchiev claimed two victories with Jamie Fraser against West Florida and FAMU winning, 6-2 and 6-1 and earning another victory with Pierce Gilheany against FAMU winning, 6-1.
 
Louisiana returns to action on February 9 when it travels to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
