Men’s Tennis: Gilheany Takes Consolation Crown, John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic ConcludesTournament Central.
LAFAYETTE – In the final day of the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic, Louisiana had five athletes compete in the event. Pierce Gilheany took home the Consolation Championship crown beating his teammate Karlo Kajin 6-3, 6-2. Gilheany was entered into the tournament as a substitute for Ruy Teixeria (LSU) on Saturday. Jamie Fraser was another Ragin’ Cajun who was added to the tournament on Friday and lost this afternoon to Const. Frantzen (Baylor) 3-6, 7-6 (4), 1-0 (6). Kacper Dworak fell in his match to Conrad Russell (RICE) 6-3, 6-2 and Stefan Gazo made his debut claiming a victory after Adam Oscislawski retired midway through the first set.
