Men’s Cross Country Earns APR Public Recognition Award For Third Straight YearCajuns’ APR score in top 10 percent of schools in their sport; full APR to be released May 10
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s cross country team was one of a record 23 Sun Belt Conference teams that received NCAA Public Recognition Awards on Wednesday, marking the third consecutive year the men’s squad was named to the list. The Public Recognition Awards are for teams posting scores in the top 10 percent of their sport. The 23 Sun Belt teams honored eclipsed the previous record (14) that was set in the last two years. APR scores for all Division I teams will be released May 10. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. All teams must meet an academic threshold of 930 to qualify for the postseason and can face penalties for continued low academic performance. The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 academic years.
