Men’s Basketball: Bartley Named SBC Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week
Junior averaged 23.0 points in helping Cajuns extend win streak to four

NEW ORLEANS – After helping lead the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns to a pair of victories last week, Frank Bartley was selected as the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week in a release by the league office on Tuesday.
Bartley, a junior guard, averaged 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in helping the Ragin’ Cajuns earn wins last week against James Madison and Texas Southern and extending their win streak to four games. The Baton Rouge native went 16-for-28 (.571) from the floor, 6-for-12 (.500) from the 3-point line and 8-for-12 (.667) from the free throw line.
The BYU transfer opened the week last Wednesday in an 82-70 win at JMU scoring 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the floor while going 3-for-5 from behind the 3-point line. Bartley added six rebounds, a career-high five steals and three assists in helping Louisiana (4-2) earn its first non-conference road win since an 89-80 victory at Louisiana Tech during the 2013-14 season.
Bartley wrapped up the week with 18 points in an 84-73 win against Texas Southern on Sunday at Blackham Coliseum. He scored seven points during a decisive 16-2 run midway through the second half to help Louisiana pull away. He finished 6-for-12 from the floor and 3-for-7 from behind the 3-point arc.
Louisiana will return to action on Thursday (Dec. 1) against Nicholls in the first game in the newly renovated Cajundome. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m., and will follow the women’s game between Louisiana and Xavier (N.O.) that is scheduled for 5 p.m.
