Graduation: Twenty-Three Student-Athletes Earn Degrees In UL Graduation Ceremonies

LAFAYETTE – Twenty-three Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns student-athletes were among a record 1,641 graduates to receive degrees from the University during commencement exercises last week.
 
The graduates were members in 14 of the University’s 16 Division I athletic programs.
 
Highlighting the list of graduates was softball pitcher Jordan Wallace, who was named the Outstanding Graduate in the School of Marketing. Wallace, who helped lead Louisiana to its fourth consecutive NCAA Softball Regional championship last week, was joined by teammate Leandra Maly.
 
Two members of the Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team – Ben Carter and Evan Powell – also received degrees with All-Sun Belt Conference student-athletes Justin Victor and Kelci Lyons among a combined group of six graduates from the Louisiana men’s and women’s track and field team.
 
Four members of the Ragin’ Cajuns football team – Zachary DeGrange, Kevin Fouquier, Jarad Martin and Larry Pettis – received their degrees along with four from women’s track (Lyons, Brittni Clements, Jana Jones, Amber Sharp), three from volleyball (Abby Filce, Andrea Hole, Lavinia Tataran), two from men’s track (Victor, Micah Thomas), two from women’s soccer (Grace Howell-Harries, Shelby Isley) and one each from men’s basketball (Aaron LeBlanc), women’s basketball (Robbie Brown), golf (Jason Noto) and men’s tennis (Damian Farinola).
