Golf: Tolson Named Sun Belt Men’™s Golfer Of The WeekJeff Schneider, Associate Director of Athletics Communications NEW ORLEANS, La. – Louisiana sophomore golf Jack Tolson was named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week after posting the best 54-hole score in program history this week at Lake Charles Invitational, the league office announced on Thursday. Tolson fired a three-round score of 15-under par (201) to claim the individual medalist honors at the Lake Charles Invitational edging out Texas State’s Logan Davis by four strokes. Coming into the tournament, Tolson had carded four career rounds in the 60s. Tolson recorded all three rounds at the tournament in the 60s including a career-best 66 (-6). The Lafayette, La., native registered 19 birdies in three rounds. Tolson has two top 10 finishes this season and three top 25 performances. Tolson’s win is the first for a Cajuns golfer since Harladur Magnus won the Border Olympics in 2016. The Ragin’ Cajuns return to action April 7 at the Southern Collegiate Match Play hosted by Southern Miss at the Hattiesburg Country Club. Louisiana will face South Alabama in the opening match of the day with the winner to face the winner of Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss for the title in the afternoon. — Ragin’ Cajuns —
