Golf: Statement from Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns head golf coach Theo SlimanStatement from Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns head golf coach Theo Sliman “Thursday was a historic day for the NCAA as we saw all spring sports championships canceled for the 2020 season due to the widespread COVID-19 situation. We then proceeded to see all major conferences suspend activity indefinitely among all athletic departments. Our team and coaching staff met Thursday afternoon and it was not any easy meeting. This was a very emotional time for both players and the coaching staff as our season has come to an end. We are saddened not only because our home tournament will not be played, but also because our seniors – Jack Tolson and Micah Goulas – last season of play has been cut short. We are grateful that the NCAA is planning on extending the eligibility of student-athletes in spring sports one more year. For our 2020 seniors, they will have the opportunity to play in the 2021 Louisiana Classics and compete for post-season play. I’m proud of our team, these young men have handled this challenge with the utmost class and character. We look forward to getting back on the course.”
